The sculptural form of the human ear is fascinating and as truly particular to an individual as a fingerprint.
This work serves as a memento mori to my father who was born and brought up in the east end of London between the wars.
A sense of his anecdotes is evoked by collaged sections of an old atlas of the city, concentratiing on the areas he described to me - and I could not resist including Old Ford alongside Stratford and Bow.
Metaphorically, this is the ear that listened, preserved.
